Welcome to The Guild of Master Victuallers website (GOMV). The site aims to provide the latest news, updates and information on all aspects of the licensed trade. It contains useful contacts and a forum for members and other interested parties to air their views and concerns, along with other useful tools and information for members.
What Is The Guild of Master Victuallers?
The GOMV is a professional trade body representing and protecting the interests of licensees up and down the country. The GOMV can boast a wealth of experience, made up of a mixture of direct members and affiliated local LVA’s (Licensed Victuallers Associations), many of which have been in existence for over 100 years. Activities are as diverse as our membership, from consulting on new legislation and lobbying Government on all issues affecting our trade, to assisting individual licensees on a broad range of topics such as rent reviews, employment issues, stock management, noise and environmental health issues or problems with local councils and licensing objections. The Guild offer both practical help and advice through dedicated members and also a vital support network of like minded individuals. There are various meetings throughout the year complimented by a number of social events and Annual Conference, giving members plenty of opportunities to discuss issues, ideas, and see what’s happening in other areas.
Who can join?
Over the years The GOMV has evolved to keep pace with ever changing demands the licensed trade present. With the introduction of the 2003 Licensing Act, membership is accepted from Personal License Holders from within the on-trade businesses, including pubs, clubs and hotels.
